
Hi! I’m Angie Alessi, avid baker and creator of From Scratch to Scrumptious. I was born in the midwest and transplanted to Southern California where it’s always sunny.
Baking has always been my passion. As a teenager, I worked hard to perfect my chocolate chip cookies. I also baked pies and other delicious treats.
When I met my husband, he loved my desserts, but asked if I could cut back on baking so he didn’t gain 20 pounds. I couldn’t give up on baking, but I could change what I made.
I started baking bread. Nothing feels better than smelling bread in the oven and knowing that you made it. Our favorite lunch from that time was freshly baked Kalamata Olive Bread with Gouda cheese. His coworkers were pretty jealous.
Now, many years later, my recipe box is exploding with perfect recipes and baking tips. It only makes sense to share this wealth of information with others.
At From Scratch to Scrumptious, I strive to help you find timeless, delicious recipes that are both frugal and easily made with ingredients that you probably already have. Recipes made from scratch have the double benefit of being both more affordable and healthier than its pre-made, store-bought counterpart.
