My daughter loves dogs! For her 10th birthday, I needed to make an amazing dessert quickly. These cupcakes fit the bill!
This technique makes a cute dog cupcake in less than 1 minute! Easier than spreading frosting with a spatula!
Equipment Needed for Dog Cupcakes
Frosting bags and couplers
Piping Tips: small round tip, large star tip (#1M) like this one (Amazon link)
Cupcakes
Frosting in white, pink (small amount) and black (small amount). For the darkest black frosting, check out my simple trick here.
Step 1: Face Base

Make 3 lines that meet in a central spot slightly lower than the true middle of the cupcake. Pipe in a motion that goes up and then towards the middle.
Step 2: Center Face

At the middle top, pipe up and towards the same central spot. This line should be slightly taller than the first 3 lines.
Step 3: Ears

Pipe on the dog ears using a circular motion.
Start next to each side of the frosting, pipe outwards and then circle down and in towards the starting point.
Step 4: Snout

Starting in the middle, make a figure 8, ending at the middle again. Follow the path outlined below.

Step 5: Eyes, Nose, Tongue

Using black frosting and a small round piping tip, pipe a triangular nose at the top center of the snout. Then pipe dots for the eyes at the top of the snout or just above it.
Then, using pink frosting and a small round tip pipe a small tongue just below the snout.

All Done!
How simple was that?
